ISHRAT KHAN was born in Agra, India and emigrated
to Canada in 1965. He had his first one man show in Canada
at the ElGreco Art Gallery, Montreal. His works were also
exhibited in Vancouver at the Gallery of the Golden Key (Owned
by artist Daniel Izzard) from 1965 to 1971, Vancouver Artist’s
Group Show at the Vancouver Art Gallery 1967, Heatherington
Gallery Park Royal West Vancouver, Silk Purse Gallery West
Vancouver 2005 and North Vancouver Community Arts Council
shows in 2005 and 2007.
Besides Vancouver cityscapes, Ishrat also painted local people/
scenes while on assignments as an engineer in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh
and Azerbaijan.
Thrice awarded in international competitions sponsored by
the United Nations and art institutes in his native Pakistan.
